I only went out for a walk,

and finally concluded to stay out til sundown,

for going out,

I found was really going in.

                      John Muir

For as far as he could see...

the bruised light of a setting sun...

.... some violet sediment on the horizon.

A controlled blaze.

Everything

went

                  like

        snow

in the

                      sun

Luftmeer was the term the naturalist Alexander Von Humboldt gave to describe the atmosphere. Translated it means “air ocean.” Luftmeer is a collection of images made under the guise of this term - looking for transcendence within landscape in a hope to describe the light we see and the ways in which we experience it.
